For Pesach celebrations, the Temple Ahavat Shalom’s Sisterhood, Northridge, CA, chose a different theme. Approximately 125 members made the crossing on the footsteps of Jewish communities in Latin America.
Even though they are on the same continent and share the same liberal Jewish principles, some of the history knowledge is missing in Americans’ communities regarding the reality of the Latin American ones. To present who we are and what we do, we prepare an information pamphlet sharing a little of our history. During the seder they also served typical regional cuisine, in a true integration of the traditional cuisine of Passover to the countries invited to the Seder.
