Two new rabbis ordained by our Reform Rabbinical Institute

A moment of celebration for the Institute, UJR-AmLat and our entire network.

With deep emotion, we celebrated the ordination of Marisa Drexler and Marina Umaschi Bers, two new rabbis trained by our Reform Rabbinical Institute.

To be a rabbi is to receive a tradition and then pass it forward. It is to transform study into commitment, words into meaning and spirituality into presence.

It means learning in order to teach; being a student in order to become a teacher; honoring what we have received while also having the courage to innovate and open new paths.

The ceremony took place at the Templo de Libertad and was attended by Rabbi Sergio Bergman, President of the WUPJ.

We celebrate not only two new rabbis, but also a new chapter for our Institute and for our entire network.

Mazal Tov, Marisa and Marina!

May their journeys be filled with learning, commitment, sensitivity and new possibilities for Reform Jewish life throughout Latin America.
