Rabbi Kelita Cohen, Ida Katz and Rachel Reichhardt Visit the Israelite Center of Rio Grande do Norte

In early July, Rabbi Kelita Cohen, rabbinical student Ida Katz, and soferet Rachel Reichhardt visited the Israelite Center of Rio Grande do Norte (CIRN), where they took part in a series of activities focused on strengthening community life.

Throughout the visit, they led study sessions, community conversations, and collaborative meetings with members of the congregation, encouraging collective planning and greater community engagement.

As a result of this work, several study and working committees were established, including a Worship Committee, which will help strengthen the congregation’s religious and communal life. The initiative encourages members to take an active role in building a pluralistic, welcoming, and collaborative Jewish community.

The visit also reaffirms UJR-AmLat’s commitment to strengthening Reform/Progressive Jewish communities across Latin America by supporting community development, organizational growth, and leadership formation.
